Kal Karmen

After graduating from U.C. Berkeley in 1996 Kal began working in Los Angeles in the field of Cinematography before embarking on the route of post production and special effects. At San Francisco's Industrial Light & Magic (division of Lucas Film) his projects included "Star Wars the Phantom Menace" (George Lucas) "Magnolia" (Paul Thomas Anderson) and "Celebrity" (Woody Allen). Kal came to Europe where he continued his journey with a focus on Editing until 2002 when he moved into Directing. Kal's reel reflects his love of Cinematography and beautifully produced organic VFX. His workl includes films for "S" by Shakira, Bulgari and Gucci perfume with James Franco. Currently based in Rome, Kal is an ardent traveler, anthropologist, rock climber and gardener.
